I am a disabled artist, cancer survivor, wife and rescue dog mama. I have always loved to make and create, everything from scrapbooks, cards, candles, jewelry and more. Creating saved my life when battling a rare and dangerous cancer and has now given me renewed purpose. I now know, that being disabled, doesn't mean I cannot contribute something positive and beautiful to the world. Recently, my journey led me to a whole new medium, as I began using clay for physical therapy. Working with the clay, I found a whimsical part of my creativity that I didn’t even know was there; My Whimsy World was born. First came Fairy Doors and then Whimsy Sanctuaries (a quiet space in a tree or rose bush where a fairy or unicorn could rest), with Teapot Fairy Homes, Condos, Unicorn Stables and so much more on the way. This magical, whimsical world is growing everyday and I am super excited to explore it and share it with you.
I have always been someone who volunteered, throughout school and my adult life. When I became physically disabled, I thought that I may not be able to volunteer again, as it made me too unpredictable to be able to schedule; pain ruled my life for a very long time. Yet now, as the chemo brain fog is slowly lifting and my gratitude for life helps tame the fear of the pain, I am realizing that I can still help, broken or not. I can create for others, on my schedule and when I am able; in this way I can help charities that make a difference. I will be creating unique items for these charities and listing the items that can be purchased on the page titled, "Angel Items", (I will also include a link to more information on the charities I will be creating for). 100% of the profits for any Angel Item will go directly to the charity listed. I am grateful to be able to contribute in some way, to making the world a tiny bit more whimsical.
Thank you so much for visiting, My Whimsy World.
