The original design for my fairy doors came from the inspiration I found wandering in an artists meditation garden, on a holiday with my husband in Saskatchewan. Like a bolt of lightning, as I looked at other artists interpretations of fairy doors, in my mind I could see what my fairy doors would look like. I had just recently started working with clay, as physical therapy for my hand, so I knew that as soon as I could, I would figure out a way to make fairy doors. They literally helped open the door to my imagination.
I continue to grow as an artist, as my skills and imagination grow, but I will always be grateful to that little garden for sparking my imagination and allowing me to start creating, MY WHIMSY WORLD. Pictures of the evolution of my fairy doors journey are above, along with a gallery showcasing my newest Whimsy Fairy Doors, below.

A Whimsy Sanctuary, is a peaceful ball of space in a tree or rose bush where fairies and fantastical forest creatures can find a quiet sanctuary to rest. I've always found peace and a special kind of tranquility among the trees, I could spend hours just watching them sway with the breeze. Their branches, like hands, reaching for the sunshine and in my imagination I saw the perfect spot for a Whimsy Sanctuary . My Whimsy World, which grows more each day and is limited only by my imagination. See all the Whimsy Sanctuaries in the gallery below:
